WEEK 5

Monday's AGS was agony. My comps were pretty terrible but Clive's feedback was helpful. I hope that I can turn it around quick. After class I went home to take a nap. I had to go back to school later that evening for the first AIGA mentorship night. I headed back to school around 6:30. The room we were in was small room in the middle of the 200's. It was a desk type of classroom and wasn't what we needed. AIGA provided pizza and soda. After everyone had eaten we looked for a new room. We ended up settling in 207. There were some new faces and old ones too. It was a fun night.

Tuesday's Font Design class was a typical class. Some progress but lots more to get done. Can you guess what I did after class? That's right…a nap! After my nap I had to go back to school because there was a lecture. Before I headed over to school I picked up Miguel. Tonight's lecture was by Jeremy Mende of Mende Design in San Francisco. His work is pretty interesting and was a good lecture. After the lecture there was a dinner held in the faculty dining room. There is usually one dinner per term and this was the best yet. Lots of people and a good time had.

Wednesday I woke up early to get my homework done for Info Design. I had to unpack something. I chose a hard drive. I took it apart so that I knew what the basic shapes were that make up a hard drive. I was surprised at how simple it was. Not a lot of parts. I then took pictures of the parts. Next I traced the basic shapes. My concept was to show the hard drive by using an mp3 file. I opened the file in text edit and used those characters to populate the poster and then overlaid white shapes that make up the hard drive. The class was more laid back this week. Our in class assignment was to find statistics for our homework. I found statistics on dui, lawsuits and prisons. I still don't know if I will choose one of these topics for my core project. Business 101 was our last class with Errol. He is a great teacher and I wish the class would have been longer with him.

HARD DRIVE UNPAKED

Thursday I kinda took the day off and didn't do too much. I did head over to Eagle Rock to get my oil changed. Josh had told me about this place that did super fast oil changes. I had to go check it out. Sure enough in less than 10 minutes they were done. I highly recommend Lube Master on Colorado in Eagle Rock.

Thursday night Lizee hit me up about getting dinner. We went to this old timey diner in Pas called Pie and Burger. It was very nostalgic and an ok burger. Everyone was fixated on the tv's as the Lakers won game 7 to take the finals over Boston.

Friday I woke up early so that I could get started on my Editorial homework. Class was short as usual. After class Frank and Eric came over to hang out. While waiting for Jesse to get home from class we had a couple drinks before heading over to Lucky Baldwin's for moor drinks and dinner. After dinner we hung out at the house for a while before everyone headed home.
